Traditional botanical art creatively combines art and science, merging aesthetically composed images with accurate depictions of each flower, bud, leaf and stem. Learning to slow down and focus in on each aspect of the live plant has become a life lesson as well as an artistic skill for me. In many layers of transparent watercolor I slowly create images designed to invite an observer in to look closely at details in a sharp focus; to perhaps slow down and observe how a leaf curls, how a petal catches the light, how a weed can be fascinating in its detail — how noticing details that may have been easily overlooked can be a happy surprise. Each of these images has been professionally scanned, printed and is available as a limited-edition, archival Giclée print. Inquire about available originals.
